Wicklow has an abundant and of diverse range of walking routes to choose from. Some walkers may want a challenge in the mountains, while others prefer a more leisurely stroll along the forest trails. We have highlighted some suggestions for walks to suit all interests and levels, including some a little further afield.

Local walks

Adjacent to the holiday homes is Clara vale nature reserve with over 500 acres of native irish forest and wildlife.

it is a hidden Gem of woodland, picturesque walking routes and incredible wildlife including the spotted woodpecker, Sika Deer and much more.

Ballybraid/ Ballyboy Trail – 15 minute drive from holiday homes – 15 mins – 1km – links to longer walk. Forest trail – Laragh

Sugar Loaf Way – 1-1.5 hrs – 4.3km – minor roadway, laneway and mountain track.

Glenview Woodlands walk

Glen Beach Cliff Walk – 4km – up to 50m – difficult in parts – exposed cliffs, uneven surface. Great sighting for grey seals or glimpse of porpoise or dolphins – Wicklow town

Walks a bit further

Bray Promenade & Bray Head – 1hr – 3hrs – coast walk onto track-Flat walk onto steep uphill at Bray head – great views

Greystones to Bray Cliff Walk – lovely view of the sea – 1 hr up and 1 hr back or walk up, coffee in Bray/ Greystones and dart back.
